Oral surgery deals with extractions of teeth or residual roots, the removal of included or semi-included teeth in the bone, the removal of the apex of teeth with granulomas, the removal of cysts and small growths in the oral cavity.

It also includes implantology and all surgical interventions performed for pre-implant purposes, such as bone reconstructive surgery, bone grafts with the patient's own or synthetic bone, guided bone regeneration with membranes, elevation of the maxillary sinus floor using bone grafting.
